Get ready for a change in career!

As we move towards the end of the year you may be looking to switch jobs or make a career change. We've put together a few tips for you that can help you during this process.

Update your CV
Add your latest role and any new skills; make any tweaks that are necessary. Often Employers won’t look at CV’s that haven’t been updated in the last 3 months, so even if you haven’t changed jobs, make an amendment so your CV will move to the top of the list.

Research
If you are thinking about moving into a new sector or embarking on a different type of role, carry out some research and see what Employers require. Search for your dream job on different jobboards and compare and contrast. There may be a different emphasis on what experienced is required or desired depending on level, sector or even language requirement.

Brush up on your skills
There are many online resources offering free trial or free access such as the Open University so you have an ideal opportunity to improve language skills or even learn a new one!

Perfect your interview technique
With many Employers looking at online interviewing now is not the time to be camera shy. LinkedIn have some great video tips.

Look after your mental wellbeing
Searching for a new job can take it's toll and it’s easy to forget to take time out to look after yourself so do have a look at the NHS advice and take on board their suggestions, this will leave you healthier and happier and in the best frame of mind to embark on that career change.

Don't forget to update your CV on UK Language Jobs if you haven't for some time, and sign up for job alerts so you are the first to receive notiifications of new roles.
