    Business Development Officer

    Location: Wales, UK

    ROCBF are a Community Development Finance Institution providing loan finance to the not-for-profit sector, small businesses and individuals.

    Working with local authorities, small businesses and the community energy sector we develop and deliver lending programmes that fund renewable energy production and home-owner energy saving measures, as well as delivering on the British Business Bank's Growth Guarantee scheme.

    We have a strong track-record and years of experience but are now looking for a Business Development Manager with financial know-how and fresh ideas to help in taking ROCBF to the next level, developing relationships, piloting new projects, building relationships with potential delivery partners and investors, as well as helping to design and market our loan products.

    Terms:

    Salary circa £43,000 FTE

    15-21.5 hours per week (negotiable)

    Initially a 6 month contract and review

    Person Specification

    • Confident and Articulate: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
    • Financial Literacy: Strong financial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities that align with our core values and strategic direction.
    • Lending Experience (Advantageous): Experience in lending practices, particularly knowledge of revolving loan funds, is advantageous.
    • Written Communication: Proficient in written English; able to produce high-quality documentation and proposals.
    • Welsh Speaker: Ideally bilingual in English and Welsh.
    • Team Player: Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

    The ideal candidate will have relevant experience to work in the following areas.

    Contribute to the development of a new business plan for the organisation.

    Develop relationships with potential investors, working with them to design investment opportunities that align with their organisational values and financial requirements.

    Identify opportunities that fit with our ethos, experience and capacity.

    Lead on bid writing

    Work as part of a team to develop new products and bespoke lending programs

    Networking and identifying opportunities to raise the company profile with relevant audiences.

    Develop illustrative graphics/infographics to assist in presenting to potential partners and stake-holders.

    Contribute and at times lead on grant funded projects
